AFTER A WEEK OF UCP INACTION, NDP REFERS CALGARY-EAST ALLEGATIONS TO POLICE
EDMONTON – It has been one week since allegations of credit card fraud and other concerning issues of bribery and forgery concerning the UCP nomination candidate, Peter Singh, came to light.[1] The NDP called for the UCP to give the serious allegations to the police, but the UCP refused.
Today, NDP MLA for Calgary-Shaw, Graham Sucha, wrote to the Calgary Police Service.
Sucha wrote,
“I am forwarding to your attention allegations of criminal activity against Mr. Pradeep Peter Singh, the United Conservative Party candidate in Calgary-East.
Various Calgary media outlets have reported on allegations that Mr. Singh and/or his associates assisting with his party nomination have inappropriately used at least one person’s credit card to purchase a membership in the United Conservative Party without their consent.
The Criminal Code at Section 342 (1) may be relevant to these allegations, as it details the fraudulent use of a credit card.
I seek your division’s attention to this matter to determine if a criminal investigation is warranted.”
